Dow AgroSciences and AgForce partnership benefits Queensland growers

Australia - July 01, 2012

Queensland growers will have access to expert advice and the latest information on woody weed management following a new corporate partnership between Dow AgroSciences and AgForce.

AgForce members across Queensland will benefit from having access to the latest information on best practice weed and pest management, following the announcement of a corporate partnership with Dow AgroSciences.

Dow AgroSciences is the first crop protection company to form a partnership with AgForce. George Saville, Dow AgroSciences Marketing Manager, for Australia and New Zealand, says this partnership is a logical step following last year’s financial support for the AgForce Queensland Flood Relief campaign from The Dow Chemical Company Foundation.

"The partnership with AgForce will strengthen our relationship with growers across Queensland and give us the opportunity to provide information about solutions to weed and pest problems in their farming operations," said George.

"Dow AgroSciences and AgForce share a commitment to support a profitable and sustainable agricultural industry," he added. As part of the partnership, Dow AgroSciences will provide expert advice and information directly to 6,500 AgForce members across the broadacre, beef, sheep and wool sectors in Queensland.

"One of Dow AgroSciences’ strengths is a specialist knowledge of woody weed and regrowth control in pastures. Many growers are already familiar with our tried and trusted brands including Tordon ™ DSH, Graslan™, Grazon™ Extra, Access™, Hotshot™ and Starane Advanced™," said George. "By taking our relationship with AgForce to the next phase, members will benefit from having access to the latest information on woody weed management, along with direct access to our technical support team."

Wendy Allen, Partnership Director with AgForce, said the partnership comes at time of growth for AgForce.

"Since our establishment in 1999 membership has been growing steadily," said Wendy. "By joining forces with an international crop protection company which is highly regarded for its commi™ent to research and development, we expect membership to grow even further as producers across the state look for best practice solutions to ongoing issues such as woody weed management."
