From Barley to Beer: Grain Modification
Last month, we showed you what happens to your malting barley when it arrives at the malthouse – how it’s graded, tested and either accepted or rejected for further processing. Grain that doesn’t make the cut at that point is cleaned and sold as feed. Grain that makes the grade moves to the next step in becoming malt.
In part two of this series, you’ll see how maltsters modify raw grain through steeping and germination. Watch the video to see one more step in the process from barley to beer.
