GoDRI™ Rapid Dispersion Technology gets growers going fast

Edmonton, AB – (February 7, 2014) – It has been 15 years in the making. Dow AgroSciences is introducing a new dry technology that addresses complaints growers have had about using dry products. GoDRI™ RDT (Rapid Dispersion Technology) provides several tangible benefits to farmers.

Dow AgroSciences research scientist Rory Degenhardt was on site at FarmTech in Edmonton with Shaun Haney from realagriculture.com to discuss what’s new in dry formulation technology. And as he explained to realagriculture.com, it’s all new.

“GoDRI™ RDT meets the needs of growers for fast and complete dispersion of dry products in water with little to no foaming, no precipitation and low use rates. Newly developed coformulants are the key to the technology’s rapid dispersion,” says Degenhardt. “And there is no precipitate which takes care of concerns such as plugged screens, filters or nozzles. With this technology, growers can fill a sprayer tank and cover a lot of acres – fast.”

The technology performs under a wide range of water conditions to ensure its robust performance no matter what the water source presents. It was tested in water at 2°C with hardness levels ranging from 10 to 1026 ppm and pHs from 3 to 9.

GoDRI™ RDT will allow farmers to enjoy the benefits that come with dry technology – including low volumes, ease of handling and trouble-free storage over winter – without the worries associated with older dry products. The first product to incorporate GoDRI™ RDT will be a new broadleaf herbicide from Dow AgroSciences called Paradigm™, a product that is not yet registered or available.

The TechTour is a segment of realagriculture.com sponsored by Dow AgroSciences. This novel segment features interviews with industry experts about new technologies that have the potential to increase crop production efficiency for growers. Most interviews are conducted onsite at major western Canadian farm shows from the Dow AgroSciences’ tradeshow booth including Agri-Trade in Red Deer, Crop Production Week & Crop Sphere in Saskatoon, FarmTech in Edmonton, Manitoba Ag Days in Brandon and Ag-Expo in Lethbridge. Growers can also enter to win an LED Sprayer Light Kit, as part of TechTour, by registering at GoTechTour.ca.
