Beth Nicholas is Global Leader, Dow AgroSciences Finance, a position she assumed in July 2014. Prior to this role, she served as Global Accounting Director of Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Special Transactions and Tax Accounting for The Dow Chemical Company (Dow).
Nicholas joined Dow in 1992 as a cost accountant at an Akron, Ohio, subsidiary. Throughout her career, she has held numerous roles in the Controller’s function, including business cost accounting and analysis, financial accounting and corporate consolidations, and she was involved in several significant transactions. In 2010, she relocated to Shanghai as the Asia Pacific Accounting Director, where she was responsible for a majority of the area Controller’s organization and activity. In 2012, she was named Global Tax Accounting Director responsible for the global income tax accounting process, as well as the Legal Entity Rationalization Project Director to reduce the number of legal entities in which Dow operates worldwide. The following year, she accepted additional responsibilities as the Global Accounting Director of M&A and Special Transactions, where she was responsible for leading the research and accounting efforts for M&A, the related audited carve-out financials and other special transactions.
Nicholas is an active member of Dow’s Finance Gender Diversity Steering Team and a board member for the United Way of Central Indiana and Develop Indy Council. She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Central Michigan University.
