Herculex® RW Rootworm Protection and Herculex XTRA Insect Protection are Market Choices® products. Grain harvested from products that bear this mark is fully approved for food and feed use in the United States and Japan, but is not approved in the European Union. You must find a market for this crop that will not ship this grain or its processed products (such as gluten) to Europe. Appropriate markets for this grain include: on-farm feed use, domestic use or grain handlers that specifically agree to accept this grain and handle it appropriately. Insect Resistance Management Continued access to Bt technologies hinges on growers adopting practices that assist in preventing development of resistant pest populations. Herculex RW Rootworm Protection and Herculex XTRA Insect Protection are subject to Insect Resistance Management requirements established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The IRM standards for Herculex RW and Herculex XTRA are different than those for Herculex I Insect Protection and other Bt products. The requirements for Herculex RW and Herculex XTRA are outlined in our Product Use Guides. You must review and understand these requirements before planting hybrids containing Herculex RW or Herculex XTRA.
