Dock Control and Annual Weed Control in New Leys

Why Control Weeds In New Sown Leys?

  • Weeds compete with grass for nutrients and light throughout the life of the crop
  • With new leys, it is vital to get the crop away to a good start, bringing it into effective economic production as quickly as possible
  • The quicker and better a new sward is established, the longer the economic life of the crop
  • Presence of common chickweed not only competes with the crop, but can also cause problems of palatability and digestive upsets in ruminants
