Vista® XRT Specialty Herbicide Treats More Acres Per GallonHigh-load formulation results in less handling, lower use rates INDIANAPOLIS - April 14, 2009 Dow AgroSciences announces Vista® XRT specialty herbicide, a new herbicide that delivers excellent control of dogfennel, lespedeza and kochia at lower use rates. Concentrated Vista XRT contains 2.8 pounds of active ingredient — as opposed to 1.5 pounds in the previous formulation — resulting in less container handling and more acres treated per gallon. The new high-load formulation of Vista XRT provides excellent control of kochia, including ALS- and dicamba-resistant biotypes. When used in combination with DMA® 4 IVM, Garlon® or Tordon® specialty herbicides, Vista XRT also delivers proven, consistent broad-spectrum control to a variety of other difficult-to-control broadleaf weeds and woody plants, including sweetgum, oak, pine, ragweed and blackberry. Acceptable for use on rights-of-way, industrial sites, nonirrigation ditch banks, pine plantations, and grazed areas in and around these sites, Vista XRT can be applied to cool- and warm-season grasses. Vista XRT handles easily, even in hot climates, and is rainfast one hour after application. Vista® XRT specialty herbicide is formulated by using a solvent derived from naturally occurring seed oil, a proactive measure to reduce organic compounds and eliminate the use of petroleum distillates. This benefit helps ensure compliance in Arizona, California, New Jersey, New York, Texas and other states that have mandated a reduction of Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) emissions into the atmosphere. Vista XRT — with its unique, nonpetroleum-based solvent — helps restore biodiversity and reduces impact on the environment. Vista XRT also is available in the Continuum™ Prescription Control & Container Management System, which helps reduce handling, shipping, storage and worker exposure. Designed exclusively by Dow AgroSciences, the Continuum system is a state-of-the-art, total product delivery solution for vegetation management professionals. This closed-loop system eliminates container rinsing and disposal, and reduces container storage and handling requirements, labor costs and accidental exposure hazard to workers.
