Mycogen Seeds will add 17 new Silage-Specific™ BMR and TMF hybrids to its lineup, including two Quad-Stack™ hybrids combining the unmatched insect protection of HERCULEX® XTRA Insect Protection with the herbicide-tolerance technologies of Roundup Ready® and LibertyLink®. In fact, all hybrids with the HERCULEX family of traits include LibertyLink, making them tolerant to over-the-top applications of LIBERTY® herbicide.
“Our Silage-Specific hybrids give growers the technology needed for more milk production,” says Greg Cannon, Marketing Specialist, Mycogen Seeds “Additionally, we are pleased to release hybrids stacked with the latest trait technologies.”
New Silage-Specific hybrids
A popular hybrid and frequent winner in the World’s Forage Analysis Superbowl at World Dairy Expo, F697 is now available as F2F700, a 113-day Quad-Stack BMR corn hybrid. Combining the herbicide-tolerant technologies of Roundup Ready and LibertyLink with the powerful above- and below-ground insect protection of HERCULEX XTRA, this moderately tall hybrid is expected to be even more consistent with very good forage yield and very high neutral detergent fiber (NDF) digestibility.
F2F682 is a high-yielding hybrid offering improved root strength and gray leaf spot tolerance. This moderately tall BMR hybrid has a high NDF digestibility rating that adapts well to most soils with good fertility. This hybrid will be a top choice for dairy producers.
Making it a strong replacement for F2F581, F2F568 offers excellent NDF digestibility for dairy rations. This BMR features below-ground resistance to western, northern and Mexican rootworm larvae with the HERCULEX RW Rootworm Protection trait.
Maturing slightly earlier than TMF2Q731, TMF2W726 is a HERCULEX XTRA Insect Protection hybrid offering very good tonnage with a high grain component, making it a strong choice for both dairy and beef feeding operations. Widely adapted, this 111-day hybrid has excellent gray leaf spot tolerance and is recommended for continuous corn acres.
TMF2Q759 is the Quad-Stack version of TMF2Q753 and provides producers with very good fiber digestibility and tonnage along with very good gray leaf spot tolerance. Ears flex for length and girth, and produce medium-soft grain.
Especially adapted to the California and Southwest silage markets, TMF2H917 combines HERCULEX® I Insect Protection with Roundup Ready and LibertyLink technology. This full-season hybrid offers high tonnage, excellent staygreen, drought tolerance and standability. In addition, this 123-day hybrid has very good spider mite tolerance.
