Mycogen Seeds Donates $10,000 to Grand Ridge Volunteer Fire Department

TNT Extrication Rescue Tool to be Purchased

Indianapolis, IN - August 06, 2008

Dow AgroSciences LLC and Mycogen Seeds are pleased to announce a donation of $10,000 has been given to the Grand Ridge, Ill., Volunteer Fire Department. The donation, made possible through The Dow Chemical Company Foundation, allows the volunteer fire department to enhance its fire-fighting efforts in this community where Mycogen Seeds has a seed production facility. The money will be used to buy a TNT extrication rescue tool that will allow the fire department to rescue people trapped in vehicles resulting from automobile accidents.

“The volunteer fire department is a vital part of our community and we are pleased to be able to help enhance the tools used by these dedicated volunteers,” says Patrick Wilburn, Mycogen Seeds Grand Ridge Production leader.

“This donation will benefit everyone in the community who might need the help of the fire department and we know that the donation will be meaningful to the community for years to come,” said Jim Roux, president of the Grand Ridge Volunteer Fire Department.

The seed corn production site has been located in the Grand Ridge community for 75 years, which started in 1933 by Arthur Walter. The Grand Ridge Mycogen site specializes in producing hybrid seed corn.

“Partnering with our communities is a tradition at Dow AgroSciences and Mycogen Seeds and our philosophy is to invest in our communities where our employees live and work. Helping the volunteer fire department is just one way we illustrate our commitment,” says Tim Maniscalo, Corporate Contributions leader, Dow AgroSciences and Mycogen Seeds.
