Dow AgroSciences Donates $7,700 to Harbor Beach Community Hospital

Physical Therapy Equipment to be Purchased

Indianapolis, IN - August 18, 2009

Dow AgroSciences LLC is pleased to announce a donation of $7,700 has been given to the Harbor Beach Community Hospital in Harbor Beach, Michigan. The donation, made possible through The Dow Chemical Company Foundation, will allow the hospital to purchase equipment that will complement the physical therapy and rehabilitation facility expansion project that was finished in 2007. Additional equipment will allow for improvements and an increase in available patient care services.

“The Harbor Beach Community Hospital is a vital part of our community and Dow AgroSciences is pleased to be able to help enhance the tools used by these dedicated professionals in the home community of one of our key production facilities,” said Michael Harendt, Harbor Beach Site production leader.

“The Harbor Beach Hospital provides a great service to this community as well as to our employees.  Updating to state of the art equipment gives our employees the opportunity to receive premium rehabilitation in the immediate area.  This reduces time away from work, while allowing them to receive the best care possible. A win-win situation for both parties.”  said Julie Meissner, R.N. at Dow AgroSciences.

“I am pleased to have received this support from The Dow Chemical Foundation, to enhance the capabilities of our Physical Therapy Department.  Financial support from local businesses, at this level, is tremendous recognition of the value our hospital provides to our community and local employers,” said Edward Gamache, CEO and resident, Harbor Beach Community Hospital.

“Partnering with our communities is a tradition at Dow AgroSciences and our philosophy is to invest in our communities where our employees live and work. Helping the local hospital is just one way we illustrate our commitment,” says Tim Maniscalo, Corporate Contributions leader, Dow AgroSciences.

The Dow AgroSciences Harbor Beach site is the manufacturing facility for the active material for several insecticides made from the spinosad and spinetoram molecules. Spinosad and spinetoram are naturally-derived products made from a fermentation process and part of a naturalyte class of products.
