Dow AgroSciences New Zealand have more than 80 staff in New Zealand delivering over 60 leading insecticides, herbicides, fungicides and specialty chemicals to 360 outlets across more than 150 towns.

More than 1400 research and development personnel in 40 different countries are exploring, identifying and designing crop protecting solutions. Dow AgroSciences has won international recognition including Agrow Awards, Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge awards and Stratospheric Ozone protection awards.

On average it takes 1 in 39,000 experiments to succeed and costs up to $255 million to develop per product, all this whilst leading the world in R&D collaboration projects.

Recent Headlines

SpartaTM Insecticide, a new insecticide for psyllid control (Bactericera cockerelli), for use on potatoes and tomatoes. The active ingredient of Sparta is spinetoram, which works by both contact and ingestion activity. Exposed larvae stop feeding immediately but can take up to 3 days to die. Sparta belongs to the spinosyn group of insecticides. Read more.
