Dow AgroSciences is pleased to announce that recognized research agronomist Dr. Russell Nuti joins the strongest team of technical advisers in the cottonseed industry today as the newest PhytoGen cotton development specialist (CDS).
“We are extremely excited to have Nuti join our outstanding team of cotton development specialists. Nuti brings with him a deep knowledge of cotton and years of research into economic crop production,” says Duane Canfield, general manager and portfolio marketing leader for PhytoGen.

Nuti will provide agronomic support for PhytoGen® cottonseed and WideStrike® Insect Protection in Alabama and parts of Florida and Georgia.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to work with this outstanding PhytoGen CDS team,” Nuti says. “I look forward to helping growers achieve the highest yield potential with the PhytoGen line.”
Nuti holds a doctorate in crop science from North Carolina State University and a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Texas A&M University, where he focused on crop production and cotton physiology. Prior to joining the PhytoGen team, Nuti was a research agronomist at the USDA ARS National Peanut Research Laboratory in Dawson, Ga.
Nuti’s research goals with ARS were to improve water conservation and economic crop production in peanuts, cotton, and corn in the peanut-producing regions of the United States. Nuti has authored or co-authored 112 scientific publications and abstracts and delivered 98 presentations during his career.
