Scientific Name: Gutierrezia sarothrae

Family: Asteraceae

Structure: Woody nature, but rarely grows to heights above 18 inches tall. Stems grow new from the crown each year, not from old growth.

Life Cycle: Perennial warm-season plant reproducing by seeds and root systems. Most toxic during leaf formation.

Leaves: Alternate, narrow and untwisted, 1–1½ inches long, green with smooth margins.

Flowers: Small and round with inconspicuous yellow-ray flowers. Blooms appear from July-September.

Treatment:

Application Timing: After full leaf development to early bloom stage when plants are actively growing. Use lower recommended rate within the labeled rate range only very early in the season.
