Structure: Prostrate segments, egg-shaped, flattened, fleshy; spines barbed at the tops, 1-10 or more per areole; pads rooting when detached.

Life Cycle: Perennial. Reproduce by seeds and pads.

Leaves: Cylindrical or cone-shaped, small, fleshy, green.

Flowers: Yellow to rarely pink, red or copper; numerous parts.

Roots: Thick, fibrous roots.

Treatment:

Application Timing: At flowering.

Recommendation:

4 pints of Surmount® herbicide per acre. Individual plant treatment (IPT) 1% volume per volume. OR
