Scientific Name: Lespedeza cuneata

Family: Fabaceae

Structure: Erect stems up to 5 inches tall with small hairs lying flat among the ridges and yellow flowers.

Life Cycle: Weak perennial.

Leaves: 3 leaflets. Less than 1–1½ inches long and ¼ to ½ inch wide, with larger leaflets on the lower portion of the stem. Flattened on the outer end with small, flat hairs on the lower surface.

Flowers: Yellow and may be tinged with purple. Mid to late July to October.

Treatment:

Recommendation:
1.5 to 2 pints of PastureGard® HL herbicide per acre with surfactant. Apply 5 or more gallons total spray volume per acre by air or 20 gallons per acre by ground; OR

1.0 to 1.5 pints per acre of Remedy® Ultra herbicide with timing in early summer; OR

3.0 oz per acre of Chaparral™ herbicide. Apply at early vegetative growth state and continue while plant is actively growing
