Neighborhood Treatment
SENTRI*TECH references
Many local authorities have called on our services. Cities such as Bourges, Rezé, Cachan, L'Isle sur Tarn, Paris just to name a few... From a simple informative role to taking complete charge of an intervention program, our activities in these municipalities are diverse. They all lead to "in depth treatments" without postponing the problem or having it spread into neighboring areas, while ensuring respect for the environment.
Paris City Hall
Department of Social Action, Children and Health
Municipal Service of Sanitation and Hygiene - Anti-Termite Struggle Section
- Period of intervention in the fight against termites: since 1953
- Size of the intervention: all 20 Parisian arrondissements
- History and current state of affairs: the service was created in 1952 at the request of prefectoral authorities. Its original mission, and until 1989, was to seek out and treat termite-infested buildings. The size of treatments and changes in the products used in combat lead us to abandon treatments at the beginning of the 1990s. Detection was intensified. It is performed at the request of building owners or at our own initiative. Moreover, in 1997 ane 1998, it was extended to the administrative buildings of the city. As of December 31, 1998, 14 Parisian arrondissements were infested by termites, or 26 neighborhoods out of 80, in other words 1464 buildings with termites out of 9295 visits.
Isle sur Tarn Town Hall (81)
- Period of work combating termites: March 2000 - October 2001
- Extent of work: public place of 6,000 m2 with vaulted arcades and paved floors.
- History and current state of repair: In 1998, the town hall asked Sentri*Tech to make an initial assessment of all of the houses in the municipality. Of the 7 ha found to be termite-infested, the decision was made to first treat the main square, the Place Saissac. The preparatory phase took place from March to June 2000, while the treatment phase was launched from the summer of 2000, one month after the installation. From the month of October 2001, no further termite activity could be detected. From November 2001, in view of the results, the Place Saissac in Isle sur Tarn entered the monitoring phase. As the Sentri*Tech process was functioning to the satisfaction of all, it was decided, with the council's agreement, that a public information meeting would be organised through the media. The aim of this meeting was to present the functioning of the Sentri*Tech process on site and to give a precise report on the progress of the project. There are currently several projects underway. The Tarn region is one of the pilot departments chosen by the government and grants are available when anti-termite treatment is required.
