Active Ingredients

Confront® specialty herbicide contains the active ingredients triclopyr and clopyralid. Each of these ingredients controls a broad spectrum of weeds. Together, the two chemistries form an unbeatable duo, providing eight to 12 week control so fewer treatments are needed.

How Confront Works

Confront works by penetrating the tough outer leaf coating of emerged weeds before moving through the plant to the roots. Once in the plant system, Confront stimulates it to outgrow its food reserve. Unlike other products that only burn back weeds (allowing them to return in a matter of weeks), Confront knocks down weeds, roots and all.

Product of Choice

Professional landscape managers in both warm and cool climates are discovering the advantages of Confront for post-emergence control of broadleaf weeds in almost every type of turf. When applied to healthy, well-established turf, under favorable climatic conditions, Confront can be used with little risk of damaging or discoloring turf.

Why Confront

Confront is close to 100-percent effective against dandelion, clover, plantain and oxalis, as well as other problem species.

Confront works at a lower rate of active ingredient than standard three-way herbicides. In fact, gallon for gallon, at the recommended application rate of 1.5 pints per acre, Confront will go twice as far as standard three-way herbicides applied at 3 pints per acre, with control at eight to 12 weeks, fewer treatments are needed.

Turfgrass Recommendations

Use Confront for broadcast applications or in portable sprayers for spot treatments, from early spring through fall when broadleaf weeds are actively growing. Tank-mix Confront with a preemergence product such as Gallery® to increase the spectrum of broadleaf weed control, or mix with fertilizers for application convenience. Refer to the product label for specific rates and recommendations.
