Cereals The launch of BROADWAY* STAR, is the debut appearance of the new molecule pyroxsulam in Europe. Specifically designed for UK conditions it offers outstanding control of wild oats, ryegrasses, bromes and a range of broad-leaved weeds in winter wheat. Broadway Star is a contact herbicide containing pyroxsulam, florasulam, and cloquintocet-mexyl. Applied to winter wheat at GS11-32 and Broadway Star is effective against actively growing grassweeds from two leaves to mid-tillering. Broadway Star offers rotational flexibility. There is no specific cultivation requirement for following crops and a wide range can be grown following an application, including beans, peas and potatoes. Trials show that early spring use is highly effective against ryegrass and wild oats and delivers a clean up of broad-leaved weeds at the same time. It could well provide many growers with an effective one-pass spring clean-up. Broadway Star's performance in trials has revealed its superiority to market standards in ryegrass control. Against wild oats it is equivalent to current products of choice; while brome control is superior to any weedkiller currently used. When it comes to controlling great and sterile brome Broadway Star is best applied in the autumn. Broadway Star will play an effective part when used as part of grass weed control programme that includes an appropriate pre or peri-emergence product, an additional tank-mix partner and a follow-up graminicide where appropriate. Broadway Star must should be applied with an adjuvant and Dow AgroSciences supports the following: Abacus, Activator 90, Bio Syl, Drill, Headland Fortune, Headland Diamond, Intracrop Felix, Kantor, Kinetic, Torpedo and Viking. As a contact herbicide, best results are achieved from Broadway Star applied in 130 - 150 litres of water using a fine to medium spray quality. It will be rainfast within an hour. Air induction or low drift nozzles are not recommended. It is practically non-toxic to birds, fish, honeybees, earthworms and aquatic vertebrates (LERAP B). Pack size: 1.06kg sufficient for four hectares. In summary Broadway Star will deliver an exciting performance against grass weeds this spring with the bonus of added broadleaved weed benefits.
