Broad-leaved weed control in spring cereals

Key Points
  • High weed populations compete with the crop especially for water as soils become drier in the spirng
  • Weeds can interfere with harvest

Introduction
Although spring crops do give the opportunity for stubble hygiene treatments over autumn and winter prior to spring establishment many key broad-leaved weeds have the ability to germinate and grow rapidly in the spring.
