Aminopyralid Products

Forefront & Pharaoh are available for use again this year but only in certain areas...

South West England, Scotland & Northern Ireland.

There is a chance that manure generated from previous applications of aminopyralid could still be present on farm this year (2010). This manure should only be applied back on to agricultural grassland but it is feasible that it could inadvertently end up being used on gardens and allotments. Clearly we hope and expect not!

To ensure that the new aminopyralid labels for Forefront & Pharaoh and the accompanying stewardship plans mitigate against the problems of the past reoccurring, it is necessary to separate any such incidents involving manure generated previously from that that might be generated from new sales of aminopyralid.

Taking this into account and also reflecting on the location of previous incidents, sales of aminopyralid containing products will be restricted to farms located in the South West (defined as Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire) and Scotland.

These areas have had very few instances of manure going on to gardens or allotments.
