	Weed Control	Pest Control
February	Plan fields to be reseeded this year.	Check leys after winter for leatherjacket and bibionid damage. Use Dursban* WG where necessary. Check Pestwatch reports for leatherjacket activity.
March	Check for chickweed infestation and treat early growth when conditions allow. Check dock growth and plan programme of control for the year. Use translocated herbicides, such as Doxstar, Forefront or Pastor*, applied from the end of March/early April according to weather and growth stage. Allow 28 days needed for maximum translocation. Use correct water volumes. Docks need to be actively growing and still at the rosette stage. Doxstar, Forefront and Pastor do not check grass growth. Apply glyphosate for sward destruction before maize and grass reseeds.	Continue to monitor pest activity. Ploughing grass for maize? Apply Dursban* WG for leatherjacket control.
April Reseeding	Monitor reseeds with respect to grass, clover and weed growth. For annual weed control, apply Doxstar* or Pastor* if no clover present. Check all pastures for docks, nettles and thistles. Ensure herbicides are sprayed when weeds are at the rosette stage and actively growing. Forefront* or Pastor for overall treatment. Thistlex* for thistles. Doxstar for docks or Grazon* 90 for spot treatment via knapsack.	Check reseeds for Frit fly and leatherjackets.
May 1st cut silage	Check application timings. After 1st cut if growth and weather suitable, or after 2nd cut if docks are going to seed quickly.
June 2nd cut silage. Hay.	Check dock regrowth after 1st cut. Plan grazing/silaging rotation to aim for reseeding in mid August. Consider best pasture and weed management (topping/grazing) to get best out of future herbicide applications. Check all pastures for docks, nettles and thistles. Recommend dose and timing for glyphosate before reseeding.
July	Check all pastures for docks, nettles and thistles. Recommend dose and timing for glyphosate before reseeding.
August Reseeding. 3rd cut silage.	Where half doses of Doxstar* or Pastor* were applied in the spring, follow up with the second half dose. Monitor reseeds with respect to grass, clover and weed growth. For annual weed control, apply Doxstar* or Pastor* if no clover present.	Look out for Crane fly activity. Check best timing for Frit fly control with Dursban* WG. Check Pestwatch reports for Frit fly activity.
September	Monitor dock, nettle and thistle regrowth and consider treatments for this autumn or next spring. Successful control can be achieved from translocated herbicides applied to actively growing weeds through the autumn.	Note Crane fly activity to plan autumn leatherjacket treatment with Dursban* WG to obtain the most cost-effective results.
