Dursban WG tank mix warning

UK - January 28, 2008

With the wheat bulb fly season fast approaching, Dow AgroSciences is warning growers against applying Dursban WG (chlorpyrifos) in tank mixes with Atlantis WG.

“Timing for wheat bulb fly treatment may coincide with those for any remaining applications of Atlantis. However, growers must resist the temptation to tank mix, as there is a risk of crop damage,” warns David Roberts, Dow AgroSciences technical specialist. “Where wheat bulb fly exceeds the recommended thresholds for treatment, growers should apply Dursban WG first then wait 14 days before applying Atlantis.”

Where wheat bulb fly threaten yields, Dursban WG (chlorpyrifos) should be applied at 1.0 kg/ha in 200 to 1,000 litres of water per hectare. If necessary, Dursban WG can be applied to frosty ground but should not be tank mixed. Dursban WG must not be applied in tank mix with Atlantis WG, regardless of weather conditions.
