Product Use Examples

Entrust® Naturalyte® insect control is produced through the fermentation of living organisms. Fermentation technology results in a compound labeled for organic use that combines the efficacy of most synthetic insecticides with the environmental benefits of most biological insecticides. Entrust effectively controls target pests without adversely affecting most non-target organisms.

Entrust provides excellent control of lepidopteran larvae (worms or caterpillars), leafminers, Colorado potato beetles and thrips without disrupting populations of beneficial insects. Following are some examples of uses for Entrust:

  • Sweet corn growers have relied on traits for control of worms. But as insect pressure builds late in the season, Entrust insect control will provide protection against corn earworm and fall armyworm.
  • For brassica growers, row covers have been the only defense against flea beetles. The University of Massachusetts reports that Entrust® Naturalyte® insect control "significantly reduced damage" from flea beetles versus control plots.
  • Late-season cole crops receive protection from Entrust against diamondback moths, cabbage loopers and imported cabbageworm.
  • Used once a week when apple maggot pressure is high, Entrust improves the control that bait traps provide organic apple growers.
