Being a rich source of vitamin C and minerals, it makes healthy and salt-free diet. India is the largest producer of banana in the world. Tamilnadu, Gujrat, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Assam and Orissa are major banana-growing states, the highest productivity being in Maharashtra followed by Gujarat.
